Die ersten frühen amerikanischen Werbanzeigen 1947-1950
Aus der US-"AUDIO Engineering" ab Mai 1947 sind hier die Inserenten-Anzeigen teils mit ihren Produkten abgebildet. Die Art und Größe der Anzeigen spiegelt schon den damaligen "Marktaufbruch" nach dem Herbst 1945 wieder. Auf den einzelnen Firmenseiten ist mindestens die erste und die letzte Anzeige aus diesem Zeitraum enthalten. Natürlich sind die Anzeigen auch kommentiert, soweit sich aus dem redaktionellen Teil des jeweiligen Magazins etwas mehr an Informationen ergibt. Die Anzeigen aus den Jahren 1951 bis 1958 sind getrennt in der nächsten Hifi-Epoche und die aus 1959-1962 sind ebenfalls in einem eigenen Bereich. Die Bilder (durch Anklicken vergrößern) sind fast alle in maximaler Originalgröße, besser ging es nicht.

ALTEC LANSING war ein Chassis-Hersteller
In der Historie von ALTEC und JBL findet man mehrere Hinweise, daß James B. Lansing mit ALTEC zusammengearbeitet hatte bzw. dort als Mitarbeiter oder Partner tätig war. ALTEC sei aus der Entwicklungsabteilung von "Western Electric" entstanden und baute große Kinolautsprecher. Angeblich hatte ALTEC dann 1941 die marode Firma von James B. Lansing gekauft und führte Lansing im Firmennamen.

In April 1948 erscheint eine der ersten ALTEC Anzeigen in großem Format.

NEW MODEL 604B DUPLEX SPEAKER SHOWS REMARKABLE EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE

NEW MODEL 600B DIA-CONE SPEAKER
"Greater quality per dollar" describes the new low-priced high quality 600B Dia-cone speaker unit. Because of the high efficiency, small space requirements, light weight and superior quality of reproduction, the 600B is ideal for home use sound reinforcement systems and industrial applications.
NEW 8" MODEL 400B DIA-CONE SPEAKER
A low-priced high quality unit with a much higher efficiency than is found in ordinary 6" speakers: important in use with amplifier capable of delivering only from 5 or 6 watts. Exceptionally high power rating results from Altec Lansing design and use of a large Alnlco V permanent magnet.
Altec Lansing corporation, one of the world's largest makers of professional and theatre-type speaker systems, has announced a new, basically improved line of general purpose, high quality speakers. Altec scientists call attention to the fact that these new speakers, - constituting a complete new line - have been fundamentally reengineered, and are the result of the application of new scientific discoveries resulting from intensive original research in Altec Lansing Laboratories; they are not, it is emphasized, mere modifications or "reworking" of present models. Wie lange das mit dem James B. Lansing als Mitarbeiter gut ging, habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Jedenfalls erweiterte ALTEC seine Produkte um Messgeräte und Consumer- Elektronik. Weiterhin gehörte damals PEERLESS zur ALTEC Gruppe.
