Die in diesem amerikanischen (Freizeit-) Shopping-Magazin angepriesenen Hifi- und Video-Produkte waren auschließlich amerikanischen und kanadischen Militärangehörigen zugänglich - also zu kaufen - und vor allem zu ganz ungewöhnlich (verblüffend) niedrigen US $ Military-Preisen. Der Ruhm der DUAL Laufwerke ist angekratzt
Wettbewerb kam vor allem über den Preis und da konnte DUAL fast nicht mehr gegensteuern, die Produktion in Deutschland war von den Lohnkosten und Lohnnebenkosten ausgeufert. Die Japaner wußten das geschickt auszunutzen, obwohl auch der YEN erheblich vom Wert zugelegt hatte, wie auch die DM.
